ADMISSION

Adventist Malama Elementary School practices a policy of inclusiveness. We avoid discrimination in all its forms. Students of different beliefs, ethnicity, or nationality are welcome. They may also enjoy rights, privileges, programs, and activities offered by the school.

The Adventist Malama Elementary School recognizes the need for "special education" help for children. Our resources in this area are limited. But as possible we will evaluate potential students and where possible give them a time to see if the school may be of assistance to them. A multi-grade classroom permits us to place students in a compatible setting.

Cumulative records or reports from the previous school attended is required for all children enrolling from other schools.

A student who is applying for admission, but who has an unpaid account at the school attended previously must make satisfactory arrangements for the payment before the child may be enrolled.

Students are to be admitted to kindergarten only if they shall have attained the age of five years on or before December 31 of the current year. First grade students must be six.

FEES AND TUITION

Until this gets updated, please contact the school for our current tuition rates, (808) 696-3988.

Payments are to be made to the school secretary before the 10th of each month.

DISCOUNTS

Families with two children in school will receive a 5% discount; three or more children will receive a 10% discount. Discounts cannot be applied to late payments (see Financial Statements below). If tuition is paid in full at the beginning of the school year a $100 reduction will be given.

WAIANAE SDA CHURCH MEMBERS FEES

Adventist Malama Elementary School serves the community and our church. Those from the community pay regular fees and tuition. Members of the Waianae Seventh-day Adventist Church and their families are on a different plan.
Registration fees and uniform costs are the responsibility of each parent, family or sponsor. This is the same for everyone in the school.
Our goal is to have every child in Adventist Malama Elementary School who is from a Waianae Adventist family. In order to do this, we operate on a system similar to the public school system. But, there are differences.
The school is operated as a service of the church. We plan budget to provide education in grades K-8 for all our children. However, for this to work, our families should be faithful in their tithes and offerings. Tithe is 10% of your income. Offerings for church expense should be 7 to 10% or more as the Lord has blessed you. All children can be blessed on this plan.
You will not receive a bill. But, you are expected to pay uniform and registration fees. And pay your tithes and offerings regularly. Everyone who is an Adventist member o he Waianae Church may send their children without tuition charges as long as they are faithful in tithes and offerings. All others pay tuition and fees.

SMART-TUITION MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

Adventist Malama Elementary School has entered into an agreement with SMART. It will do our billing and receive payment of tuition charges after the initial $55.00 and first month tuition of $270.00. It is a partnership that benefits your school, your child and you.
You have a choice of convenient payment methods. SMART allows you to choose the payment method that is best for your family. You can pay by check, money order by using a convenient monthly coupon or by automatic deduction from your bank account.
Automatic deduction is convenient, reliable, and saves you money. Once it's been set up, monthly payments are made automatically and on time and there is no cost for postage. It is also safe and secure. Strict rules govern the automatic deduction process and protect confidentiality of your account and there are not lost checks or mail delays.
SMART is really an extension of Adventist Malama Elementary School, which retains all of its decision-making power to determine tuition fee, accommodate hardship cases, and make arrangements for limited scholarships.
Tuition payments account for more than 75% of our school income. By providing effective management through all aspects of the tuition collection process. SMART GIVES our school the financial stability it needs.
This partnership lays the foundation for stronger, healthier relationships between the school and parents. School administrators can spend their time more productively focusing on their primary goal-providing a quality education.
The tuition plan requires $55 registration fee plus the first month's tuition in advance by the time school starts on August 5, 2002. After that, you may choose one of the options for the remaining nine months.
An enrollment form will be provided. It should be returned to the school as soon as possible. Your acceptance into SMART is guaranteed.

TRANSFER STUDENTS

When a student transfers to this school from another school, a release card from the previous school is required. As a courtesy to the previous school, we will not allow any student to register in Adventist Malama Elementary School until arrangements for payment have met the satisfaction of the other school.
